2010 marks the 200th anniversary of the publication of Sir Walter Scott's poem Lady of the Lake. The first of the six cantos of the poem, is called “The Chase” where Fritz-James hunts the stag past Kilmahog, along the side of Loch Venachar by Ben Venue and then along the north side of Loch Katrine. To mark this bi-centenary, a new sporting event also entitled “The Chase” is launched to bring a new generation of audiences of lifestyle and outdoor enthusiasts (of varying fitness levels) and their families to the Trossachs area.
