What to do in Fife

The history of old burghs and the culture of small villages combine together to produce a region that is full of hidden attractions and delivers magnificent, breathtaking views from every coast, hillside and farm.

	East Neuk of Fife 'Neuk' is the old Scots word for corner and the East Neuk is the name given to the wedge of land running around the eastern peninsula of Fife. Full of white-washer buildings with red pan-tiled roofs and secluded little fishing harbours, the East Neuk also has some of the finest beaches and watersports facilities in Fife.
	Beaches The Kingdom of Fife combines wonderful coastline with golden sandy beaches. A haven for wildlife watching, water sports or a simple stroll along the water's edge, Fife's beaches are beautiful.
	The Fife Coastal Path The Fife Coastal Path is the perfect way to take in the scenery across the region. Take a picnic down to one of the region's sandy beaches and enjoy a walk along the coastal path to see the array of wildlife that lives on the shore.
	Old Course (St Andrews) A fabulous choice of courses is available in The Home of Golf, and it is particularly apparent in The Kingdom of Fife. From the exquisite historic St Andrews courses and old Course, to the new but beautiful parkland courses hidden inland, al provide an unforgettable experience.
	Beaches at Elie Elie is a popular resort gathered around a curve of golden brown sand on the picturesque south coast of the East Neuk. It's delightful harbour is home to yachts and small fishing boats while the bay is popular with swimmers and windsurfers.
	Dunfermline Scotland's ancient capital for more than 500 years, Dunfermline is the birthplace of kings and queens and the final resting place of RObert the Bruce. Now it is a thriving town with restaurants, excellent shops and superb leisure facilities.
	Culross Town Walk Culross was founded in the 5th century. Walk around its pretty cobbled streets and you'll see its historic buildings are well preserved, such as the Town House, where witches were tried, and the nearby ochre-coloured Culross Palace, built in the late 16th century.
	Cambo Gardens Take a walk around the contemporary but romantic flower gardens, the informal woodland garden or the Victorian Walled Garden, designed around the Cambo burn with waterfall and rose-clad wrought-iron bridges.
