A legendary land
Just saying ‘the Scottish Highlands’ brings about thoughts of regal stags standing on the summits of misty mountains, golden eagles soaring high above rushing black rivers, and a scattering of old crofts. These days, however, this very traditional image goes hand-in-hand with a modern attitude.

Drive through the wild countryside of Sutherland, through Ross-shire to the old Viking market town of Dingwall. Take the Kessock Bridge over to Inverness, capital of the Highlands and the UK’s fastest growing city. A traditional music session at the ceilidh bar at Hootannay will get your toes-a-tapping – and you’ll find yourself getting whirled about on the dance floor by spirited Invernessians in no time.

The Skye Bridge is a stunning way to drive over to the beautiful Isle of Skye, where you can sample deeply smoky, peaty malts at the Talisker distillery. Experience nature at its purest amongst the pinnacles and rock forms of the Quiraing – on the Trotternish penisula north of the island.
